You also get my keyboard shortcuts specialised for 2d animation. Including familiar shortcuts for flipping between different keyframes for example.

What If at the end of this Masterclass, there are still questions remaining?

Simply ask me directly in the 2dToolBox Discord Channel that is linked in the course as well.

As I said, this is just for 2d animators who don't want to spend weeks learning a new program, but want to animate directly.

About me:

I am a professional, german 2d animator and illustrator. In 2016 I  worked in Manchester at Kilogramme animation for three months, then for half a year at Cartoon Saloon before returning to Cologne, Germany to Co-Found Studio Huckepack in 2017 with the ambition to bring 2d feature film quality animation to germany.

Having my own studio for years mostly taught me to be resourceful. So when blender 2.8 came up and the word got around that you could animate in it for free, I got curious.

However, I was always intimidated by 3D tools. I simply wanted to draw! I pushed through it anyways and dedicated months to learning Blender and adapting it for 2D animation, specifically tailored for professional use in frame-by-frame animation.

This Grease Pencil Masterclass is my condensed knowledge of months of learning from forums, videos, and the Blender manual. Pressed all into this concise 1.5-hour Video course.

Frequently asked questions:

How do you use Grease Pencil in Blender 2D animation?

To use the Grease Pencil in Blender 2D animation, you first need to switch to the 2D animation workspace and create a new Grease Pencil object. Then, you can choose a brush type and size and start drawing on the canvas using the mouse or a drawing tablet. To animate the Grease Pencil, you need to create a new animation layer in the Dope Sheet editor and use the Draw tool to create each frame of the animation. You can play back the animation using the timeline and export it as a video or sequence of images when you're finished.

Can I use Blender for 2D animation?

Yes, Blender can be used for 2D animation using its Grease Pencil tool, which allows you to draw and animate directly in a 3D space with a variety of brush types and settings. Blender offers a range of animation tools such as keyframe animation and curve editing, as well as the ability to add sound to your animations, making it a flexible and powerful toolset for 2D animation.
